Hello everybody!
Last week you saw a sneak preview of our app guide, and now the app is live on the app store!
The app has been released on both the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store for final testing. You can also download our app guide here. If you’d like to take a peek and give us feedback, do download the app and give it a spin!
The app was lovingly designed in-house by Zarifah and Alyssa, our Creative People, and programmed and coded by our team in China. It features four main pages:
The Remote page, where you can control your light
The Schedule page, where you set a 24 hour schedule for your EcoQube AIR to sync to your circadian rhythm
The Settings page, where you can control various other aspects of your EcoQube AIR
The Info page, where you can contact us or learn more about ADI
We’re extremely proud of how the app has turned out with all of your input. Like the rest of the AIR, it has been exciting to see it transform and grow from rough sketches on a page all the way to being an actual working app that is listed on app stores!
It’s designed to be extremely intuitive and easy to use, just like the rest of your EcoQube AIR. But just in case you need some help, an app guide is also included with your AIR, and a digital copy has been uploaded online.
We’ve also been mentioning briefly our Quality Control process, and we’d love to walk you through the steps and measures we take in order to make sure that your EcoQube AIR works perfectly for you!
The 2 main things that are tested are the base and the electricals.
The base is tested for water leakage. Our manufacturing team in China fills up every base with water after they have finished gluing. After no leaks are found, they will empty the unit and wait for it to dry. They do this for all 2000 units.
Here are the bases drying.
For the electricals, the fans, fogger, and pump are tested separately when they first receive the components from the supplier. This means 4000 fans, 2000 pumps, and around 1000 foggers are plugged in and tested.
Next, for the LEDs and firmware, they power on each board to ensure all the LEDs turn on. They then connect each unit via bluetooth to a smartphone to test each function of the LEDs, pump, fan, and foggers.
It’s an extremely strict and thorough process, where each and every individual EcoQube AIR is tested to make sure that you get a perfect EcoQube AIR, void of defects and malfunctions. We’re extremely proud of this, and we are so grateful to our partners for very, VERY dedicated in ensuring that this process is adhered to, for YOU!

Hello everyone!
It’s been a busy month! Here’s a big update! We have received our EcoQube AIRs, and we’ve spent the past week:
Streamlining, editing and finalizing the instruction booklets to make sure that you get the easiest and most straightforward setup experience.
Directing and shooting setup and maintenance videos to guide you. Here’s an example of the EcoQube C setup video.
Providing final packaging and arrangement of materials in the box so your EcoQube AIR will arrive in perfect condition.

Packaging of the EcoQube AIR
The packaging and padding has also been modified to ensure that you are able to remove the AIR very easily from the box (we had spent a good ten minutes wrestling our EcoQube AIR out of the box, and would like that you do not have the same experience!)
Completing manufacturing
Here’s an insight into what injection molded parts look like:
We have used a total of 3 complex molds to create the parts shown below. We have poured over the design of these parts to make the experience of the EcoQube AIR easy and intuitive to use. These parts serve different functions: some are mechanical parts for the fan and pump, while others protect the electricals from water damage.
These are the injection molded parts from the large family mold.
Once these parts exit the machine, they are processed by hand. The tubing that connects all 5 parts is cut off. The parts are then polished so no evidence of these tubes remain. Each part is designed, cut and polished to be exactly the same size, in order to serve its exact function in the EcoQube AIR.
Here is the silicon cover and the cover of the base in action. It protects the electrical connection from water. Please do not get water into this connection.
This is the back of the black base with the cover taken off. All the circuit boards are hidden. They are also coated in a layer of silicon to protect the electronics from water damage.
Each connector for the fans, UV and power is engineered to be a different voltage and adapted to a single 24V wall plug for simple user experience.
This part is made from a rubber composite. It prevents water from the reservoir getting into your fans’ electricals. It also makes removing the pump and fogger easier for maintenance.
These are the polycarbonate tubes that housing the LED strip up the middle along with the bulk of the electronics. We carefully choose this material so that the LED light is properly diffused, making it both gentle on your eyes and optimal for plant growth. The strip works in sync with the app and will light up your plants and your room.
We are on track with getting your EcoQube AIR completed on time, as in the latest schedule we described in our previous update. All our EcoQube AIRs have gone through a VERY strict Quality Control process where every electronic component is tested for extended periods of time near water. Once again, we are so grateful to have an amazing team who have been working their tails off to provide feedback in order to finish this product. We cannot be more thankful to our team in China who have worked closely with us to ensure that every EcoQube AIR is not only produced perfectly, but will also reach you in the exact same condition.

Manufacturing + shipping news
Hello everybody!
After talking at length amongst our quality assurance team here in the States and with our manufacturer in China, we all felt it was beneficial to push the finish date back 1 week. This updated timeline allows sufficient time for all the completed units to be individually and thoroughly tested, and ensures that you get the beautiful, well-functioning product that we promised you, and one that you deserve!
Here are the updates, and the new timeline:
The assembly of the acrylic parts were all completed 3 weeks ago
Each piece of acrylic that will eventually form the greenhouse and base is cut with to excess of 1mm, then trimmed down to perfection. Every angle is measured and heat bent to a perfect 90*.
Every piece then is hand glued together by a glue formula we created 18 months ago when we began the manufacturing of the EcoQube C. This glue allows slower drying and thus, removes potential air bubbles in the seams which can turn into a leak over time. The completed part is then machine polished and subsequently flame polished for the shine you will see when you take it out of its packaging.

Here is a glimpse into the process of making each base of the EcoQube AIR. The units have been tested to be water tight, protecting both the electricals and your desk from water damage.
We’ve completed quality assurance testing for the individual parts and assembly will be completed this week for another round of final testing
Each unit will be tested for leaks. After the base has been glued, as shown above, our manufacturing team fills it with water. If any leaks are found, the unit is discarded. Once the unit is watertight, they empty the base and wait for the unit to dry.
We also wanted to allow time for our manufacturing partners to test each unit by connecting every unit with bluetooth via the iOS and Android app before the final polishing and shine.
Hence, completion date has been pushed back from Dec 7th to Dec 15th
As mentioned, the extra week gives our manufacturing partners to have a more thorough Quality Assurance process. Every LED unit will be connected to bluetooth to confirm that there are no connection or power issues. The connection and power to the pump, fan, and humidifier are tested using a set of 6 fans. This way, we are able to test the connection both quickly and thoroughly. Every pump, humidifier, and fan will also be tested separately.
We are very grateful to have these amazing manufacturing partners working hard through the holidays. They are working 3 shifts 24 hours/day to test every single unit that is assembled, because we want every AIR unit to be perfect for you!
We will be shipping all 2000 units at once
In order to reduce our carbon footprint and to ensure that every aspect of our business is as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible, we will be loading one 40ft container rather than two 20ft containers on Dec 15th.

Here at ADI we design our products with your use in mind - I work every day with our customer service team to understand you and your needs. Right from the conceptualising process all the way to the mass manufacturing, we make sure that your needs and ease of use is put first, beyond anything else.
Take for example our very first EcoQube - many of you came to us with issues regarding it, and your feedback has helped us make the EcoQube C.
We implemented all the feedback the very first 700 EcoQube owners provided in December 2014 to create the upgraded EcoQube C you all know and love. Even then, it was not perfect, and your feedback, once again, has been extremely valuable in helping us work out the final kinks in this product you helped create. With every shipment, we can now present you with better and better releases.
While creating the prototypes for the EcoQube Air, we worked with your previous feedback in mind to create a beautiful and yet still easy-to-use product. It was extremely challenging, as the Air is a complex product with many components and an app, but prioritising your ease of use has helped us focus on creating the best product for you!

Hello everyone!
It’s been awhile since our last update, and we have a LOT of EXCITING NEWS to share with you! We’ve been working hard on manufacturing the EcoQube Air, and we’re pleased to announce that we’re on track to deliver our first units on schedule in January 2017.
Manufacturing updates:
Our injection molds will be done this week and parts will be coming in next week
We’ve finished developing all graphics that will be used in our packaging and instruction manuals
Our iOS/Android app is in the final stages of testing and will be completed very soon
All of the acrylic parts of the EcoQube Air have been cut, and the next step is to finish assembling and gluing all the parts together
Manufacturing should be completed by early December, and we’re hoping to receive the units by the new year! We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with you :)

Our team is working hard to finish the final design of the EcoQube Air, and we will begin manufacturing the production version soon! We’re still on-track with our production and shipping timelines.
